Eating and drinking
There is a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, bistros, wine cellars, snack bars and places to shop all around Lake Constance. That is why we do not offer half board. In Germany and Austria, an evening meal costs approx. 20-30 € per person; in Switzerland approx. 20-40 SFR. You can, of course, eat more economically or even more exquisitely.

The Tour

Lake Constance & Rhine Falls

If you visit Lake Constance, the Rhine Falls aren’t far away. On this active tour on the Lake Constance Cycle Path you will cycle along the lakeshore, through picturesque towns such as Constance and Meersburg, Lindau and Bregenz. You will also follow the High Rhine to the Swiss town Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls, which you can experience up-close on a boat tour.

Lake Constance & Rhine Falls

Day 1 Arrival in Bregenz
Discover the many facets of Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg – perhaps on a guided tour behind the scenes of the world’s largest floating lake stage.

Day 2 Bregenz - Güttingen, 45-56 km / 28-35 mi
First, cycle through the Rhine Delta nature reserve; in Altenrhein, the Hundertwasser Market Hall is well worth a visit. The route continues close to the shore through ‘Mostindien’ to today’s destination.

Day 3 Güttingen - Gailingen, 51-61 km/32-38 mi
Charming little villages line the Swiss Untersee; the Napoleon Museum and Stein am Rh. are waiting to be explored. Overnight stay in Rielasingen or Gailingen.

Day 4 Excursion to Schaffhausen & the Rhine Falls, 30-50 km/19-31 mi
Cycle along the Rhine Cycle Route to Schaffhausen, where the Munot Fortress towers over the town, visible from afar. Experience Europe’s largest waterfall, perhaps on a boat trip.

Day 5 Gailingen - Konstanz, 53-67 km/33-42 mi
Along the Höri peninsula, the route takes you at a leisurely pace along the lakeshore via Radolfzell to Konstanz; a detour to the vegetable-growing and UNESCO World Heritage island of Reichenau is well worth it. Spend the evening in the medieval old town.

Day 6 Konstanz - Friedrichshafen, 33-43 km/21-27 mi
Take the ferry across to Meersburg. Visit the old castle or make a detour to the Uhldingen Pile-Dwelling Museum. The route to Friedrichshafen runs close to the shore through vineyards and orchards.

Day 7 Friedrichshafen - Bregenz, 35-53 km/22-33 mi
The cycle tour to Lindau, a town with medieval charm situated on an island, is characterised by plenty of nature and pretty little villages. You then cycle back to Bregenz along the waterfront.

Day 8 Departure or extension
The tour ends after breakfast; why not extend your trip along the Lake Constance & Rhine waterfall?
